Become an Affiliate that Stands Out among the rest
Create an exclusive, high-quality free
incentive to grab the attention of your contacts
This is probably the most important step. You need to determine what is going to set you apart from other affiliates and give you that advantage that will help increase your sales and profits.
Step one, quite obviously, is to develop your incentive. What is it that you want to give away? Determine what it is that you wish to offer as your incentive for making the purchase from YOUR affiliate link.
And not just "another free eBook." That has become all too common. Be original. Be YOU -- offer something that can't be found anywhere else.
It's got to be "high-quality." No junk. Something that is useful and valuable. Something that the customer would be likely to buy on its own merits, and would be ecstatic to receive for free by making an affiliate purchase.
After all, two great products for the price of one is an offer few can resist.
What I want to do here is give you some specific examples of what you can offer as an incentive. Here are some examples of incentives you can use to pull in more affiliate sales.
1. Graphic Design - If you are good with graphic design, offer a free design for those who buy through YOUR affiliate link.
2. Free Advertising - if you have a decent number of visitors to your website, or a good amount of subscribers to your newsletter, a free ad would be appealing to most people.
3. Proofreading/Editing - if you are good with these skills, offer them for free to those who sign up through your affiliate link. Everyone needs an outside "eye" to catch mistakes, so this can be a valuable offer.
4. Review Critique - if you do well at critiquing products, offer this as a free service.
5. Training - are you an "expert" in any particular field? Are you very knowledgeable when it comes to a specific function or portion of a product / service you are promoting? Do you have special insight into a certain aspect of an offer you can promote? If yes, you can offer any of the following to anyone who buys through your link:
So, why not offer one-on-one consultation for anyone who buys a particular product or service through your affiliate link. You've got several options...

Live chat sessions. You can hold once a week training sessions live via a chat room at any of a gazillion places online. Visit your favorite search engine and search for "chat' to find a whole slew of options. Why not provide ongoing training sessions that are exclusively available for those who buy through your referral? This is especially helpful for folks who are wanting to buy and sell eBooks with reprint rights -- you can provide weekly strategies for building their businesses, covering different topics each week. NOTE: This would also be a great forum for recommending other affiliate programs as you mention specific needs.

Email consultation. Another great way to provide consultation is to allow your customers to email you with any questions that they might have. They send their questions and you respond with an answer.

Telephone. Last but not least, I know folks who actually provide a telephone number for their customers to contact them anytime they have questions. These tend to be folks who are promoting high-ticket items, but it could apply to any product or service.
6. One free month of Aweber or other monthly service - think about this. If you pay for one free month of Aweber, that's about $20. But, many will likely go on to renew their subscription, so you will begin receiving recurring monthly income. So, you have offered a great bonus, plus set yourself up to start receiving additional monthly income. Not a bad idea! You can take the same idea and use it for web hosting or any other service where you will receive a recurring monthly commission.
I think you get the idea. Offer something that is unique, to give people a reason to buy through YOUR affiliate link.
